Waynetown, Dec 24 - Evan PARKER, 50, who was born and raised here and who has been a clerk for a number of years at the HE Zuck grocery store, died this morning about midnight from the effects of Bright's disease. HIs death was not unexpected, as he has been quite ill for several days. He leaves a wife but no children. He was a good man, a member of the Baptist Church here for several years and of the Knights of pythias lodge. The funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon and will be conducted by Rev. John P. Henson of Crawfordsville. The ritualistic service of the Knights of Pythias lodge will be given at the Cemetery.

Wednesday afternoon the funeral service of Evan Parker was held at his late residence on W. Main St. Elder john P. Henson delivered the sermon. It was Mr. Parker's request for a quiet home service, as he did not believe in any ostentaiton. FOr this reason the body was not taken to the church and the lodge did not use their burial service. Mr. Parker was born near here 57 years ago and has spent his entire life in the community, and had a host of friends, who speak but words of praise for him. He has been a member of the Waynetown Baptist Church for more than 40 years, was mnarried to Miss Addie TAYLOR Feb 28, 1871 who survives him. NO children were born to them. He leaves one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Westfall. FOr several eyars he has been clerking on an east Main Street grocery, now owned by HE Zuck. He has been afflicted for several years with his kidneys, each attack become more severe. The last sickness began two weeks ago and his suffering was intense to the end. A good man has fallen. - kbz
